Now here is something you just can't find! Named and identified P-47 pilot's M-1 helmet grouping! This group belonged to Richard W. Wiessner who was assigned to the 526th Fighter Squadron, and flew missions in Italy, France, and Germany. M-1 helmet is a front seam swivel loop McCord made example with OD-3 straps featuring brass hardware. Wiessner's name and squadron number can be seen on the front, and his laundry number is marked on both chinstraps. Liner was produced by Seaman Paper Co. and features green painted steel A washers. Both helmet and liner are in nice condition. Everything shown in the photos is included such as his leather jacket patches and a lot of paperwork, as well as two maps of Germany. There is even a "Secret" document that lists all of his missions in Italy and France which say exactly what he destroyed. Just a killer grouping that deserves to be displayed! There are even copies of the original estate sale where these items were sourced. Feel free to ask any questions or ask for more detailed pictures of anything!
